The feminization of agent names: diachronic study and crossed contemporary perspectives .Description The project, which received funding from the 11th Permanent Joint Commission Wallonia-Brussels-Québec 2019-2021 (--> WBI) aims at responding to a need for information on the feminization of agent names ("une cafetière ('a coffee-maker FEM'), "une auteur(e) / autrice ('an author FEM), etc.). It proposes to foster the knowledge about this issue by combining two innovative points of view. First, the point of view of the history of French: since when have actual feminine forms been in use, what is their history? Then, that of two current linguistic authorities that cannot be ignored in this respect: which official feminine forms are recommended in French-speaking Belgium and Quebec?. Director(s) DISTER Anne.
