The aim of this research is to start a vast field survey which will allow to build a corpus of pupils’ productions. With a dictation already used in France, i.e. "Les Arbres de Fénélon“, a spelling questionnaire and a sociolinguistic documentation of the data, a corpus representative of the proficiency level in spelling of pupils at the beginning of their secondary school in the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles will be constituted.
