Accuracy among EFL learners: a learner corpus approach

.

Description

This research project investigates the construct of linguistic accuracy among learners of L2 English. Its theoretical objective aims to dissect the construct of accuracy by analysing how this concept is defined, studied and measured in the fields of Second Language Acquisition (SLA) and Learner Corpus Research (LCR). Methodologically, this project aims to show the usefulness of learner corpora and error annotation to describe accuracy according to several independent variables such as mother tongue background, proficiency levels, task context (writing with or without a time limit). From an applied perspective, the project shows that adopting a learner corpus approach to the study of accuracy provides key information for fields such as language testing and language teaching.
