Historiographical and theoretical questions and the social role of the historian: nature, diffusion and impact of the historical knowledge; history and litterature. Main themes: history and memory in the novels by Xavier Hanotte, typological nature of "The longest day" (1959) by Cornelius Ryan, commemorations of 175 years Belgium and 900 years Duchy of Brabant, the Burgundian dukes and their times in collective memory.
