About the Centre

The 'Réseau Interdisciplinarité et Société (RIS - Interdisciplinarity and Society Net), which was founded on 26th October 2000, is meant to be an interface between different research centres of the FUSL, somehow bound to agree on functioning modes and minimal methodological, ethical and epistemological conditions of interdisciplinary research.

Concretely, the activities of the RIS are open to all research centres of the Université Saint-Louis as well as to researches who wish to participate individually. The RIS pursues several objectives, the main ones being the following:

1 to institutionalise, make visible and reinforce interdisciplinary co-operation and dialogue practices already existing between the various research centres of the Université Saint-Louis:

2 to bring some added scientific value by encouraging and facilitating the selection of research in transversal subjects;

3 to promote exchanges between researchers as well as between research centres stemming from different disciplines, in order to stimulate fruitful partnerships;

4 to facilitate the quick development of internal co-operations in response to bids with ever shorter terms and to facilitate access to certain research financing sources.

At present the following centres are members of the RIS:

the CASPER, the CEREC, the CReSPo, the CRHIDI, the CEDRE, the CESIR, the CIRC, the GREPEC, the Prospéro, the SIEJ,

Each year, the RIS supports several activities (seminars, colloquia, publications, organised autonomously or transversally by the research centres of the Université Saint-Louis - Brussels.
